Memorials are accumulating on behalf of two US Bank employees shot and killed last Thursday by suspect, 18-year-old Brailen Weaver
Greetings,
The morbid irony of this column being called "Postmortem" is not lost on me this week, a horrible week for our community, for employees of US Bank, and for at least two families in particular.
Thank you for turning to The Edge over the past few days for coverage of this despicable crime. Why did it happen when there was no reason for it to? This and other questions remain open. Although I did attend the Police Academy to get an idea of how our local law enforcement operates, covering a double homicide is new territory for me. Still, I aim to deliver the very best reporting as Brailen Weaver's journey through the courts unfolds. It's hard because hearts are broken, and who wants to prod a tenderized heart?
