The identities of two bank employees who died when an armed robber struck the US Bank branch in Berea, have been released by the state police.

Breanna Bryant Edwards, 35, of Berea, and Brian Switzer, 42, of Jessamine County, were killed by a suspect who subsequently fled the scene on foot, according to Kentucky State Trooper Justin Kearney who spoke with reporters from Lexington television stations, WKYT and Lex18, late Thursday night. Edwards had died at the scene while Switzer died at St. Joseph's Hospital Berea, according to Kearney.

After a Flock camera identified the get-away vehicle, officers attempted to make a traffic stop, but the suspect fled, leading to a high speed car chase through much of Central Kentucky before the suspect crashed the vehicle sometime around 9:30 PM, before once again fleeing on foot, according to Kearney.

As of 12:30 AM Friday, officers from multiple local, state, and federal agencies were still involved in a man hunt near the suspects's last known whereabouts in the vicinity of Johnston Road and Bryant Station Road, near the Bourbon and Fayetteville county lines. That is according to State Police Trooper Scottie Pennington, who spoke with The Edge by phone. The terrain in the area is a mixture of subdivisions and horse farms, according to Pennington.

Kearney and Pennington both said the suspect is armed and very dangerous, and urged citizens to call 911 if they see the suspect.

In addition to her job at the bank branch on Chestnut Street, Edwards had a photography business. Among those she leaves behind are a husband, whom she recently married, and two school-aged children.

Switzer's LinkedIn profile noted he was a client relationship consultant at US Bank, and had volunteered along with his wife for the Girl Scouts of Kentucky's Wilderness Road. He attended Tate's Creek High School in Lexington.
