Birds of Berea: the Barred Owl

This barred owlet, nearing the end of its 4-12 week fledgling stage, is beginning to sport feathers with brown and white barring and less fluffy down. It is one of this spring’s owlets who has left the nest along the Brushy Fork walking path in Berea and is learning to fly.
