Local Legends 

The Jenkins Twins, Jaded Ravins, and Kathryn Brooks 

Find the twins from Irvine making what fans call “cosmic Americana” music, plus Louisville-based folk Americana and country singer-songwriter,Kathryn Brooks, along with the Jaded Ravins, aka the “modern day Johnny and June”. They're all in one billing this weekend at Rebel Rebel Studio & Lounge in Berea, Saturday, March 21. Doors open at 7PM, with a $15 ticket fee. Music starts at 7:30 p.m. 

 Love Never Fails 

Berea College Black Music Ensemble 

This free celebration of music directed by Dr. Emmanuel Stokes, and PS. David Simmons will be held, Friday, March 20, 7PM, at Gray Auditorium, Presser Hall, on Berea College Campus. The Black Music Ensemble promises an inspiring evening of powerful music. Certainly not an event to miss! 

The Clothing Closet is Open! 

On Friday, March 20, from 3PM to 6PM in the Kingston Elementary School Cafeteria, find free, gently used clothing ranging from men’s, women’s, and children of all different sizes. This event is open to anyone and everyone!  

 Family Time 

Very Hungry Caterpillar Day with Madison County Public Library 

Join MCPL and the Berea College Forestry Outreach Center at the Pinnacles to celebrate spring, caterpillars, and Eric Carle’s The Very Hungry Caterpillar and more! There will be a pop-up library, and crafts to learn about amazing and essential animals in our ecosystem! This free event will be on Sunday, March 22, from 1PM to 3PM.

While we mostly cover weekly events at The Edge, we want to spotlight some exciting endeavors taking place in the coming weeks in Madison County and beyond!  

 Get Outside! 

 Get outside and support members of your community by attending the annual Healing in Motion 5K and take a stand against sexual violence! Join the Sexual Violence Resource Center in Richmond, KY on Saturday, April 4, for a Run/Walk 5K to kick off nationally recognized Sexual Assault Awareness & Prevention Month. The race features a scenic course on paved trail surfaces, commemorative t-shirts, free race photos, and so much more. Please visit this link to sign up and save your place in the race!  

 Tap Into Your Inner Artist  

Attend a Mosaic Class! Summer Holmes, a multi-media artist who works primarily in mosaics, is hosting a class that demonstrates how to use glass tiles to create a field of flowers. Each attendee will finish the class with an 8” x 10” mosaic. Good things sometimes come with a catch, however... This course has a maximum attendance of 12 people, so consider registering now, while you still can! The class will be on Saturday, April 11, 10AM to 1:30PM, at the Union Church Community Room in Berea, with a registration fee of $60, though two scholarships will be available!
