Ruby-throated hummingbirds can put up a fight

While the buzz of ruby-throated hummingbirds is a summer delight, these birds are often aggressive and territorial around nectar sources. Here an incoming female is met by a defensive male. Ruby-throated hummingbirds are the only hummingbirds that breed in the eastern United States and by early fall they’ll be migrating back to Central America.
