Green herons are richly colored to blend into their marshy environment. Although they can be elusive, you can sometimes spot green herons foraging for small fish along creeks in Berea. About the size of a crow, green herons can extend their necks more than a foot to grab or spear prey and are known to drop lures, such as insects, on the water to attract fish.
