Berea Earth Warriors is a grassroots volunteer organization that started in 2021. Community Litter Cleanup Days are the main thing their group is known for, but they have several other projects, such as the Berea Earth Warriors Concert Series with Living Sound Delusions Studio, the Growing Good Garden partnership project with Berea Food Bank and Eastridge Community Garden, and the Period Pantry partnership project with Period Y'all, The Period Company and the Berea Food Bank. All of these projects help to serve our community and support environmental stewardship in different ways. 

The majority of the activities held are community litter cleanup days, but the idea behind Berea Earth Warriors was to inspire people to take a bag with them anytime they were going hiking or walking around town so one could pick up whatever trash they happened to pass by. If a lot of people get into that habit, there will be a huge impact on the amount of litter and the overall health of our environment. 

The Berea Earth Warriors also sponsors a concert series featuring live music, handmade crafts, and information tables for local environmental groups. They also work with the Berea food bank for The Growing Good Garden Partnership to grow fresh produce and host gardening workshops for food bank customers.

You can get involved by joining group cleanup days which will be primarily focused on Owsley Reservoir this year, and Aetheria Luna will be hosting them at least once a month until it gets too cold out. A signup sheet for the Growing Good Garden partnership will be located at the Berea Food Bank as soon as the garden beds are ready! Those who are interested in joining in can join the Facebook group or check the Berea Tourism website under Events to find the dates and times as programs get scheduled.

If you would like to organize a cleanup day for their office, church group, school group or friend circle, you are welcome to contact Aetheria through the Earth Warriors Facebook page, and she will schedule something for your group. Berea Earth Warriors provides everything needed for a litter cleanup including bags, gloves, sunscreen, bug spray and even first aid if needed.
