Last year on the 4th of July I was filling my back yard bird feeders in the center of town in Berea and, behold, a pair of bald eagles in the side yard!

A neighbor spotted them in town again just the other day. Preferring habitats near large bodies of water, bald eagles are more commonly sighted near Owsley Fork Reservoir and in western Kentucky, particularly the Land Between the Lakes area.
